Anstruther
|
Bill Henderson and the members of Anstruther RC are planning a very colourful week in February to promote the TfL theme. The week will see displays in the town with the purple theme to the fore.
Rotarians with purple hair and beards is a possibility. The annual Presidential Dinner will probably continue the purple theme.
The local lifeboat station and the famous fish and chip shop may not escape being involved in the TfL programme.

Claverhouse
|
Claverhouse RC has already reviewed a DVD of an inspirational trip to India to assist in the vaccination of the children. The Club has also agreed a giving to Foundation of around $4000 including a significant contribution toward the Gates Challenge as part of a three year plan.
The Club is aiming to recruit new members with a secondary aim to become a truly dual gender Club.
The Club is aware of the need to improve the promotion of Rotary’s achievements in combating polio at local, national and international levels.

Cupar
|
They have identified two possible shops in the main thoroughfare, for use by the Club for displays and publicity during the week. This will be permanently manned on a rota basis by Club Members. Publicity and membership material will be on display and posters re "End Polio Now" will be prominently displayed.
Within the next two weeks they will contact all primary schools in their area to make them aware of the event and enlist their help in the "purple pinkie" project.
Collections outside Tesco, Lidl, or possibly on the main street are other suggestions being followed up.
Take a Stall at the local Farmers Market (20th February) to promote the project and also use for collections for polio plus.
Contact all major employers in the area to ascertain if they will be willing to support Cupar RC, either directly or through "Dressing down" days or other associated events e.g. Purple days with employees making donations to participate.
Obtain the DVD "The Final Inch" and have this on permanent display in the shop unit.
Try and obtain the short DVD shown at the District Assembly in Glenrothes. We feel that this short film which lasted not much more than five minutes but which got across the message in a very strong manner. This could be shown in schools to get our message across.
These proposals will be followed through by the appropriate committee with the help of ALL club members during the week.
