Zone 4

Zone 4 - Aberdeen & Deeside

Zone 4 – Assistant Governor Ewen Hatchwell
Aberdeen
The Rotary Club of Aberdeen will be supporting this event. They have contacted a number of primary and secondary schools in our "patch" inviting them to take part in the Purple Pinkie campaign. To date only Skene Square Primary has replied positively so we will be visiting them during the week commencing 22 Feb. The Club have met the head teacher and she is hoping the whole school will take part.
Aberdeen Balgownie

The Aberdeen Balgownie event in aid of TfL is the JJB sponsored challenge. They have organised that for the past two years. The first year was in aid of the British Heart Foundation and this year the favoured charity was Teen Challenge. The event takes place at the JJB Fitness Club at the Beach Esplanade Aberdeen.
Participants simply choose a programme of exercises as their challenge (easy, moderate or strenuous) to be completed over a period of an hour and in the process raise funds for the favoured charity. Next years event will be in aid of Polio plus.
To avoid any clash with the promotion at Tesco, it is proposed that the challenge will be held over the weekend Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st February. In order to keep costs down to virtually nil, all correspondence (letter of introduction, levels of challenge and sponsorship forms) will be sent be email to the participants.
