Work with Schools

§         Start negotiating with local schools
§         Discuss the educational benefits and fundraising potential
§         Use “Purple Pinkie” ideas
 
Formulate Fundraising Strategy
 
§         Aim to raise at least $1000 per Club for each of the next three years
§         Review ideas at www.thanksforlife1010.org
§         Focus attention on fundraising from outwith Rotary
§         Get agreement for using a public venue such as supermarket or sporting event
§         Use “Purple Pinkie” ideas
 
Design a Publicity Campaign
 
§         Promote Rotary’s wide portfolio of work in particular the efforts to eradicate polio
§         Use all media outlets to good effect
§         Get local high profile personalities to front publicity campaign

Work with Businesses
 
§         Investigate the possibilities of getting support from local businesses
§         Identify potential sponsorship for high profile public events
§         Identify potential sponsorship for sending people to an NID
 
Develop Window on the World of Rotary Strategy
 
§         Identify premises
§         Decide on what to display
§         Prepare high quality displays
 
Recruit New Rotarians
 
§         Maximise the potential from the various aspects of the Thanks for Life programme towards recruiting new Rotarians
§         Remember, children have parents; parents who could be Rotarians
