Publicise Rotary’s Work towards Eradicating Polio

Rotary’s progress in eradicating polio since 1985 is a very powerful tool for making the public aware; some graphics and DVDs are available on the RI and RIBI websites.

Many Rotarians along with their friends have been to the only four countries where polio is still endemic, to take part in National Immunisation Days (NID). There are opportunities to go on further NIDs in November 2009 and February 2010. Getting people who have been on an NID programme to talk about their experiences can be very effective in getting the message across

Publicise the Work of Rotary

Publicising Rotary’s work under the “End Polio Now” banner can put in the context of Rotary’s wider portfolio especially humanitarian projects both locally and internationally.

As well as graphics and other visual material, showing equipment such as any of the Rotary boxes can be effective.

In any public events that you organise for 20th to 28th February 2010 getting the involvement of past beneficiaries of Rotary’s support is recommended. For a plan leading up to the "Window on the Rotary World Week" in February 2010 click here.
