Welcome to the District 1010

Thanks for Life Website

SOON THE SITE WILL BE UPDATED FOR THE 2010 TO 2011 ROTARY YEAR

The District Governors of the RIBI General Council for 2009-10 are asking Rotary Clubs to support a “Thanks for Life” (TfL) project. TfL aims to promote Rotary’s achievements, since 1985, in combating polio as the basis for raising funds to match the Bill and Melinda Gates Challenge. Fund raising from non-Rotarian sources is a theme.

Local and RIBI-wide activities should be focussed on major promotional events centred on Rotary Day, 23/02/10. In addition to the “End Polio Now” theme, there are opportunities to promote the wider work of Rotary aimed at gaining support and recruiting new members.

Some TfL project material, including posters and DVDs, will be supplied centrally although it is important for Clubs to add the local dimension. Monthly newsletters will be sent to all Club Presidents and Club Secretaries. Newsletters will provide ideas and examples from Clubs aiming to make the TfL project a success in 1010, involving the general public, businesses and schools.

"Window on the World" will be public events and displays throughout District 1010 during the second half of February, especially 20th - 28th February 2010. For more information click here.
